2/3/2017
Deauville Beach Resort
Miami, FL
*The scene opens to a jam packed Deauville Beach Resort ballroom, in Miami, Florida, where the crowd is fired up in anticipation for the debut show of New Wave Promotions!*
"Hello, ladies and gentlemen! My name is Zippy Simpson and I am the OFFICIAL ring announcer of New Wave Promotions! And right now I would liked to introduce to you...THE ANNOUNCE TEAM!
Please welcome, BRYAN ANDERSON and EL TORMENTO!"
*Anderson and Tormento make their way to the commentary table as the crowd cheers.*
BA: "Hello everyone and welcome to The Big Premiere of New Wave Promotions! I'm Bryan Anderson and I cannot tell you how thrilled I am to be back here behind the booth after Azteca Pro's unfortunate closing. But here we are tonight. I got the call and I accepted immediately the offer of Frankie Reese and sitting alongside me, former Azteca Pro referee and lucha libre LEGEND, El Tormento. Tormento, it is an honor to have you here alongside me tonight."
Tormento: "Bryan, I am so excited to be here tonight for the debut show of the NWP. And I'm very excited to provide my knowledge of this great business from behind the commentary table. It's a bit of a new venture for me, but it's one that I'm very excited about and very much look forward to!"
GODSEND def. The Palace of Lions via Neck Hold Arm Lock from Misham to Kassius at 29:37
***The crowd was was thrilled to see The Palace of Lions as the group was one of the top stables in Azteca Pro before the company shut down. However, they were also very surprised to see Misham (sporting a new, much darker look) align with the fallen angel, Saint AKUMA and his former Foursaken members of Jun Sekimoto and ONI, under the name of GODSEND. The match was definitely an exciting opener as we saw the talent of every man involved on display. In the end, it was GODSEND picking up the victory with Misham submitting Kassius, proving that joining the dark side may have just made him even more dangerous than ever before.***
Black Wolf def. Bagha Prince via The Shaman's Nightmare (Fisherman DDT) at 12:56
***We saw former Azteca Warrior Champion Black Wolf face off against one of A-Pro's top rookies of the past year, the Bengali sensation, Bagha Prince! Prince used most of his high-flying arsenal to try and keep "The Navajo Nightmare" on his toes, but once he was grounded, there was no stopping the vicious onslaught. Black Wolf picked up the win with his Shaman's Nightmare finisher, leaving Bagha Prince laying in the ring, motionless. A strong statement was sent by Black Wolf here tonight.***
Shoot 2 Kill and Stevens & Montez wrestled to a TIME LIMIT DRAW at 30:00
***One of the most impressive tag teams on the indy scene, Shoot 2 Kill, comprised of indy superstar Tony Dawes and the masked flying shooter, The Flyin' Lion, set to do battle with the rookie team of Jess Stevens and Fox Montez. Stevens and Montez were among the final Azteca Pit Dojo graduates of Azteca Pro Wrestling, but had never officially made their debut. However, when Frankie Reese was laying the groundwork for New Wave Promotions, he wanted some fresh faces for the company, in order to help it stand on it's own, rather than be referred to as "Azteca Pro Lite". He put this match together on a whim, and boy did it deliver. In what was a technical, tag team wrestling classic, we saw the 30 minute time limit draw, with both teams ending the match to a standing ovation and shaking hands.***
Quemaduro II def. RYOMA via Neihan at 15:04
***Tyler Alexander's protege, the masked Quemaduro II, looked to make an impact and he did just that when he faced off against the 2-time and final Azteca Warrior Champion, RYOMA! In what was a very exciting matchup between the two, Que got the better of RYOMA, eventually forcing the big man to submit to the Neihan submission. After the match, RYOMA went to shake the youngster's hand, but Que just flipped him off and walked out of the ring, much to the crowd's dismay.***
Craze def. RISE via Moonsault from Keroshi to Tizona at 24:30
***Fans were shocked to see a trio of former R.O.D. International leader, Ricky Santana, Dimension Dragon II, and the former Magatama (who hasn't been seen in almost 4 years) together. But before the match began, Santana took the mic and stated that the man formerly known as Magatama is now known as Keroshi and that they are known together as "Craze". The crowd was surprised to see former ELITE member The Chon and former WMD-Azteca member Rhaegos together, as ELITE and WMD have their own storied rivalry, but it seems that the two have aligned and joining them a masked newcomer named Tizona, as a group known as RISE. We saw some very impressive trios action and teamwork from both teams. The match turned into an eventual brawl with Keroshi felling the newcomer Tizona with a Spinning Brainbuster followed by a Moonsault. A more than impressive return for Keroshi and an impressive debut of both trios.***
Yoshirozuna def. KWEST & Koji Keo'ke via Banzai Drop to Koji at 21:09
***In the main event, we saw three of the best face off in the ring, as former Ace of Azteca World Champion, Koji Keo'ke, the sumo wrestling superstar Yoshirozuna, and the FINAL Ace of Azteca World Champion, KWEST square off in a Three Way Fray. Yoshirozuna only made one Azteca Pro appearance, which was at his debut in the "Flashing Lights: Ceese Memorial Show" where he successfully defeated The Chon in an impressive feat. The three men each threw everything they had at each other, with Yoshirzuna getting the best of Koji with the Banzai Drop for the win!***
After the main event, Frankie Reese thanked everyone for coming out to the show and announced that there will be another show coming in a few weeks from New Wave Promotions called "One Of These Days" and to stay tuned online for further information.
